Intimacy Coordinator Bio

Amanda Cutting is a pioneering intimacy coordinator and the first certified IC/ID in Western Canada. Recognized by SAG-AFTRA, she is dedicated to creating safe and respectful environments for performers in film and television. With over 70 shows and 800+ days on set, Amanda has played an instrumental role on the UBCP/ACTRA Best Practices Committee and is certified by BECTU.

As the Lead Intimacy Coordinator on the 18 Emmy Award-winning show "Shogun" (Disney+), she guided intimate scenes with sensitivity and professionalism, ensuring the well-being of all performers involved. Her extensive experience also includes high-profile projects such as "Brand New Cherry Flavor" (Universal), along with "Death and Other Details" (Disney+), "The Night Agent" (Sony Pictures), "Surface" (Hello Sunshine/Apple TV), and "Snowpiercer – Season 1" (Netflix).

In addition to her coordination work, Amanda serves as a lead instructor for training new intimacy coordinators, sharing her knowledge and promoting best practices within the industry. Her dedication to the well-being of performers and her strong advocacy for safe intimacy portrayal have established her as a trusted leader in film and television.

“Speaking personally, she provided me with a safe space to ask questions I was too afraid to ask, and an extra set of eyes to track what I couldn’t see. Amanda also helped to shape and craft better, more specific language for my contracts which served to protect my privacy. She even gave excellent advice for how to recover my voice after a day of screaming on set! A true encyclopedia of holistic artist health! I am so incredibly grateful for Amanda and the work she does, and I look forward to the day when she has trained up an entire army of similarly equipped coordinators to disperse all over the globe.”

"During the filming of Shögun, Amanda cared for me so gently. I have never been treated like that in an intimacy scene. Her work supported me to focus on the scene and my acting. I was able to act dynamically, and felt safe with her support. I would love to recommend working with her."
