Actor Bio

Amanda Cutting is a dynamic and versatile actor whose passion for storytelling shines through in every role she embodies. With a background in both theatre and film, Amanda brings emotional depth and authenticity to her performances, captivating audiences with her relatable portrayals.

A strong Shakespearean-trained actor, Amanda has completed an intensive training program at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London and a Theatre Arts Program at Mount Royal University. Amanda has also studied several years of improv at the famous Loose Moose theatre. She is also a certified Intimacy Director and Intimacy Coordinator through Intimacy Directors International (IDI), proudly recognized as the first intimacy coordinator and director in Western Canada, which equips her with a comprehensive understanding of character complexities.

Amanda has taken on memorable roles, including Phebe in "As You Like It," Gertrude in "Hamlet," the dark and domineering Queen of Hearts, Helen in "Fat Pig," and Luciana in "The Comedy of Errors." Her ability to navigate complex characters is supported by skills in dialect coaching, voice and diction training, and extensive vocal performance, including classical singing and musical theatre training.

As an experienced acting coach, she has supported many youth and adults season or emerging actors develop skills that deepen their performances and reach through the camera to the audiences. She shares her insights and techniques to foster specificity with relatable dynamic layered portrayals. She is skilled at script and character breakdowns and incredibly knowledgeable on finding the root intentions for a character and scene.
